I found another church today. I have one in Georgia, one in North Carolina, now one in England, of all places.
I took the bus into the city, got dropped off by the ancient Roman Catholic cathedral, and walked uncertainly down the street and up another, stopping to ask for directions twice, unsure if I was going the right way. Kept checking my watch. "Lord, seriously, let me find the church. Not kidding."
I found it. Walked in 5 minutes late, as they were singing "and cro-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-wn Him, crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, and cro-o-o-wn Him Lord of All..."
I slipped into a pew and the man next to me immediately handed me his open hymnal and bulletin, took my closed one.
That was just the first act of kindness of many in the next hour and a half. It was so refreshing and good good good to worship with people again. I've missed it these past few busy busy weeks.
Be of a like mind; love one another.
So Chapelfield Road Methodist and I are good friends now. I'll be going back.
