Santa Fe, are you there?
Do you swear you won't forget me?
If I found you, would you let me come and stay?
I ain't getting any younger, and before my dying day,
I want space, not just air,
Let em laugh in my face, I don't care,
Save a place!
I'll be there...
-"Santa Fe" "Newsies"
Hi y'all, I have had a very enjoyable day. Barbara and I took her dogs, Buddy and Lucky, for a walk and then we went over to the mall because she had to get new lipstick and we had to eat lunch. On the way we listened to my (new) "Newsies" CD- and she loved it! I love sharing that excellently gorgeous music with someone and them ending up liking it. It was great. So we went to the mall and ate at Johnny Rockett's (yum) and window shopped... and then she dropped me off at my house and I did my IVs and then hung out and I found the tape of Oscars 2000! Yay! That is probably my favorite one, or one of them. I don't know. They all have their moments, especially if I wanted a certain actor/actress to win and they did. EXAMPLES:
1998:
Best Supporting Actress- Who I wanted to win: Gloria Stuart (yes, I was a Titanic fiend, even in 4th grade); Who won: Kim Basinger
Best Supporting Actor: Who I wanted to win: Robin Williams; Who won: Robin Williams
Best Actress- Who I wanted to win: Kate Winslet (hm, wonder why?) Who won: Helen Hunt
Best Actor- Who I wanted to win: I didn't really care, but probably now I would have picked Matt Damon; Who won: Jack Nicholson
Best Picture- Who I wanted to win: take a guess (I'm the king of the world!); Who won: take a guess (I'm the king of the world!)
1999:
Best Supporting Actress- Who I wanted to win: Judi Dench; Who won: Judi Dench (I absolutely LOVE her- her show, "As Time Goes By", is really good and funny)
Best Supporting Actor- Who I wanted to win: who was even nominated that year??? ummm.... okay, I guess since I can't remember then I didn't really care; Who won: James Coburn
Best Actress- Who I wanted to win: Probably Gwenyth; Who won: Gwenyth Paltrow, of course
Best Actor- Who I wanted to win: Roberto! Who won: Roberto Benigni (God, whoever hasn't seen "Life is Beautiful" is reallllly missing out-- excellently made film, superbly acted, wonderful all around)
Best Picture- Who I wanted to win: whoever; Who won: Shakespeare in Love
2000:
Best Supporting Actress- Who I wanted to win: I don't remember! Maybe Chloe Sevigny, but really I don't remember; Who won: Angelina Jolie, who I was very happy with because she is a very good actress
Best Supporting Actor- Who I wanted to win: Either #1 Haley Joel Osment (just because of his age thing), #2 Michael Clarke Duncan (just because of his unknown thing), or #3- Tom Cruise (just because of his 2 other nominations thing); Who won: Michael Caine (I have nothing against him, he's a great actor, and he gave a great acceptance speech; but I would have loved one of the others to win)
Best Actress- Who I wanted to win: Hilary Swank; Who won: Hilary Swank! She is a great actress.
Best Actor- Who I wanted to win: I don't remember....... probably Denzel but since he won this year then that's fine; Who won: Kevin Spacey (I was happy for him)
Best Picture- Who I wanted to win: I didn't care since I hadn't seen any of them, but sometime it would be nice for the underdog to win; Who won: American Beauty
2001:
Best Supporting Actress- Who I wanted to win: Kate Hudson; Who won: Marcia Gay Harden
Best Supporting Actor- Who I wanted to win: Albert Finney; Who won: Benicio del Toro
Best Actress- Who I wanted to win: Julia! Who won: Julia Roberts (she had deserved it for a long time, but was especially excellent in "Erin Brockovich"
Best Actor- Who I wanted to win: URGH! I am having the hardest time trying to remember who was nominated in that category (besides Russell Crowe)... so forget it; Who won: Russell Crowe
Best Picture- Who I wanted to win: Erin Brockovich; Who won: Gladiator
2002:
Best Supporting Actress- Who I wanted to win: Kate Winslet; Who won: Jennifer Connelly
Best Supporting Actor- Who I wanted to win: Ian McKellen; Who won: Jim Broadbent
Best Actress- Who I wanted to win: Halle Berry; Who won: Halle Berry! Yahoo! :-D
Best Actor- Who I wanted to win: Will Smith or Denzel; Who won: As Julia said, "I love my life- Denzel Washington!"
Best Picture- Who I wanted to win: Maybe Gosford Park since I actually went and saw the movie; Who won: A Beautiful Mind

OK, now that you've heard my little rant or whatever about the Oscars..........you never have to hear it again. :-) But one day I'm gonna be on the red carpet. Oh yeah.
Anyways, I think I got off track... we were watching Oscars 2000 and I just hung out and I got some French done and some English and some GA History! Yay- plugging away at it slowly is the way to go, I think. Had yummy chicken Italian dish and watched "Friends" with Mom... It was the Holiday Armadillo one AGAIN- that's the 3rd time I've seen it! Ah well. Mom and I took the puppies for a walk and then I had ice cream and now Mom is getting my IV stuff ready. Only 2 more full days after tonight! Yahoo!!! :-) Tomorrow is the 3rd anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting.
--clairey, happy friday everybody
