Check this out- a month from today, exactly a MONTH, I will be almost on my way to the UK!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happiness... if I can wait that looong. But I can. Because there are ONLY 20 DAYS LEFT OF SCHOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!
And it's FRIIIIIIIIIIIDAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, anyways. I'm in a pretty good mood, can you tell? Well, I have a good weekend... tonight I'm doing nothing and tomorrow I'm going to Megan's house to practice for the Coffee House w/ her and Mollie and then on Sunday, it's confirmation Sunday and then choir and the Coffee House that LN, Marty, and Victor are all coming to, I think. So YAY! I had to write a poem yesterday for language arts, and it's about youth, so I'm gonna read it before I sing "Voyage". By the way, the first time I sang that ("Voyage") was at my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary 2 years ago. My dad and I sang it together. It is such a pretty song.
I am a sailor, you're my first mate,
we signed on together, we coupled our fate,
we hauled off our anchor determined not to fail,
for the heart's treasure together we set sail...
etc, etc, etc. it's really pretty. and the chorus goes:
Life is an ocean,
love is a boat,
in troubled waters it keeps us afloat...
When we started the voyage, there was just me and you,
now, gathered round us, we have our own crew.
Sigh, how loverly. Today was living history day at school for Ms. Logsdon's GA History class- I dressed up as Laura Ingalls Wilder and LN borrowed one of my flowy skirts (my personal fave, the light blue- I wore the dark blue with black boots, a blouse tucked-in, a bandana, braids, etc... a lil pioneer girl, that's me) to be Beatrix Potter (I can just imagine Claire Bloom, the actress, reading those stories from the cassette tapes we have of them- "The Tale- of Peter- Rabbit"... she has those graceful steps in her speaking), and all of us who were going today had to go to Ms. Kern's room- she's pretty strict I think, I don't have her, but it went well and I was proud of myself for going first and getting it done, especially since I decided to do it instead of chicken out (sort of) and ask Ms. L if I could do something else. It was a good experience. And I did my situation interview in French with Alex well too ("stellar", as Mme put it- and stellar became the word of the day for Matt and Michael, talking about the stellar blue jay in Alaska???? Michael swears it exists and Matt "believes" him ;-D) and so all in all, today was a good day. And I got to miss math because Coach O is getting back from military training or whatever on Monday and my parents wanna schedule a meeting with him to see what I need to do, etc... I got my progress report yesterday and I have an 89 in algebra. Ms. Martin also asked me if I wanted to speak at the awards ceremony for either 6th or 7th grade. Hm, that's about it... 20 days! :-D :-D YAYAYAYAYAY
